Where has Jodie's form come from? Semi-Finals in Glasgow and Nottingham apart her results this year hadn't been anything special. Does she just really love grass?
It's great to see such a long list of players - both men and women
I'm not sure statistically but it really does feel that we've had the most stellar year this year in terms of our 'next cohort'
I do wonder if the irony will be that they'll all majorly disappoint in Wimbledon itself - Sonay and Lily and Jodie and Ryan etc will lose 2 & 2 (& 2) and that'll be that
BUT they'll have got all their points already, which is major, and so WImbly won't really matter for them because even the R1 cheque will be quite a gamechanger
Last year we had 30 wins total. This year , the wins include the play offs so if we strip those out (14) we are just over 40 wins so far in womens with Eastbourne, Wimbledon qualies , Wimbledon and Ilkley final to come. So nicely ahead of
Last year at least.
Womens are also on a par with me pretty much this year.
Updated table - 23rd June - with Harriet going out , no change today. The list below is as we enter the last weeks, ie Wimbledon. The players with an X against their name are playing Wimbledon. To beat Jodie to top place, the following results are needed (assuming Jodie doesnt win a match)
Emma R, Katie S, Heather - cant top the table
Sonay - needs to win Wimbledon
Lily - needs to reach the Wimbledon final
Harriet - needs to reach Wimbledon semis
Katie B - needs to reach Wimbledon quarters
Hard to see anyone beating Jodie to be honest!!
