Interesting. Beth wasn't originally entered for this tournament, but there are plenty of spare places in qualifying. And Beth is actually ranked higher than anyone in the main draw.

The very definition of a dangerous floater (assuming of course that she is fully fit and ready)

Id say Wozniacki was the most danerous floater

Lovely to see Beth's name  here. Good luck to her.

It's a bit hard on her 2nd round opponent who will be playing her 1st senior match but at least she will get some idea of what the professional game is about.

Oh so nice to see Beth back. I just hope she gets through the match feeling ok. She could really have been up challenging the top 250 if she hadn't had the heart issue which made she missed all those UK 25ks which would have been perfect hunting ground for her.

Beth does indeed become the top seed in the main draw, and gets a qualifier in round one.

Beth being made to work hard today. Trying to be aggressive but a few too many errors. Twice a break down, she takes the first set 7-5.

That's a good win for Beth today - 7-5 6-4. A definite step up in the level of opponent after a couple of easy matches.
