Beth sneaking towards the top 300 with 3 months off is impressive. She looks so fit and powerful these days. Defo got a chance of going a lot higher in the rankings.

Looks like today's result may see Beth back to equal her CH of 304 after slipping away over the last few weeks.

With Beth having relatively little to defend in recent months it is a pity that she lost the opportunity to really push her ranking up then.

The good side though is she didn't drop much and looks ready to now push on again. And she is hopefully healthy

Beth struggling today. A low first serve percentage, and unable to take advantage of chances in the early games. First set gone 2-6

It's a pity we are coming up the the FO and that the points won't go on for a while. Another win would take Beth inside the top 300 for the first time.
Top 4 seeds have all made it to the semifinals, so won't be easy.

The win today should take her to a new CH just under 300 after RG. biggrin

Incredible week back after heart surgery, even though not the highest opposition. But baring in mind, she wasn't getting deep in singles this time last year - such a huge improvement in results. Great to see!

Very tough now to progress at this stage in comeback. But great to see, surely going to be top 250 by year end at least Id say, if she remains fit.

Glad both Beth and Eden are giving their careers the best chance, plenty posters on here had them retired into the doubles route. That can wait til latter career if required. Always baffles me when people want young players to take the easy option.

I'm not sure many people "want" young players to take the doubles option although some do see it as a possible option over time for say an Emily Appleton.

What I do think is baffling is often being so set against it for some older more experienced players who have given singles a good shot and want to concentrate on doubles, even Sam Murray S?!

Whatever, great to see Beth returning back like this.
