Can't help but think looking at the field (and her draw in Paris) that there were more points up for grabs here.

Tricky opener for Jodie. Interesting to see how she gets on after a decent showing last week.

Admittedley the Paris draw wasn't kind, but she is dropping 25 point counters soon, and needs to go for some bigger tournaments.

But she has just taken the 2nd set 7-5, so about to enter a decider. 2 hrs 12 mins on the clock thus far.

I was going to say it's good that she's giving these clay events a go, although I guess with those Chinese and Japanese W60-W100 May hard court events off the calendar for a few years now, there's very little non clay alternative outside of the likes of Nottm W25.

I dont really know how the points are allocated. Would you get more for getting to a final of Nottingham W25 than possibly losing in R1 or R2 of a W60?

Very much so.

W25s give 30 points for reaching the final.

W60s give 1 and 8 points for losing in R1 and R2 respectively.

Overall it goes :

W25: 0 / 5 / 9 / 18 / 30 / 50

W60: 1 / 8 / 15 / 29 / 48 / 80

W25s are generally more like mini challengers ( and generally attract stronger fields ) compared to M25s with their much lower points. For a long time though the W25 points to prize money ratio has been anomalous and has got more so.

Jodie lost 6-7(0) 7-5 4-6.

I assume she didn't / won't make the RG Q cut, and haven't checked her schedule, but perhaps Surbiton next?
