Joanna Garland is the player who could have played for GB

Still hasn't played BJK Cup for Chinese Taipei despite being their no.4, hedging her bets perhaps?

Are we missing out by her not playing for GB? she seems another middling sort of player or am I missing something?

On the face not but you never can tell e.g . Jo Konta

Are "we" missing out? What do you mean? She seems to be happy doing her own thing for her own designated  country. So what business is it of anyone else?

Let her do what she wants to do. She's not bothering your identinty, nor is she looking for you support as a potential UK citiizen

Wow. Ok, I did NOT mean anything other than, are we missing out on a good player that can improve GB's general tennis outcomes in tournaments. Nothing to do with any kind of -ism.

Fyi - I am a resident of another country but am not a citizen of it. I'm British living in New Zealand on a visa.

Quite frankly, I find your post to be rude and aggressive for a simple question asked without any kind of attack and more.of a wondering kind of sentiment. Why assume malice in my post.

Perfectly reasonable post, flamingowings - namely "is she a player that the LTA are/should be really going after?" Would she be a big addition to the UK scene if she were to change?"
And, yes, a rude reply

Fully agree, the tone of the reply was where I happen to take offence. Very rude and unnecessary.

Wow, wow, wow.

Sorry, Jiwan, to my mind you apoear to have totally misinterpreted the sentiments behind FW's post.

The fact that it is Joanne Garland here is irrelevant other than she is a player where there has been a little discussion in the past re her British links and whether she might ever switch to a GB tennis nationality.

FW is clearly taking this into account in currently wondering in a British tennis forum about how much benefit such a switch might be to us given her recent form.

It seems to me that to aggresively speculate ( well gee rather more than speculate ) re racism and/or British elitism in FW's comments has the look of someone no doubt very concerned about many ongoing and concerning very real isms in the world but looking far too much for some that are not remotely there. I have had an understanding about some of your previous concerns that I certainly do not have here.

An apology to FM would seem to me a not unreasonable next step.

I come on here to see how the Brits are doing regardless of where they come from. Pity I have to see all this crap before I see some results. There are so many encouraging performances as of late that that discussion would be far more interesting.
