Week 19 - ATP 1000 - Rome, Italy (outdoor clay)

Its probably out of the question and tainting their chances. But titles this week for Neal and Lloyd could be massive. Lloyd has already done well so anymore is a bonus but he could go top 50 and a title put him as high as mid 30s.

Neal however- a title would be enough to put Wes 4 and Neal as high as 5 - the players from 4 to 13 are very closely grouped and Neal is 13. Certainly top 10 is well within the realms of possibility , this week or in the next few weeks

Lloyd and Harri are also now 16th in the doubles Race, big gap to 8th but could at least start to get in the conversation - there is a lot of season left. Neal and Wes meanwhile are close to securing a spot in Turin with plenty of time left to do so.

Hard to see where Jonny OMaras career is at but it looks like Joe, Neal and Lloyd will form the crux of our doubles force in the next season or two, not discounting Jamie but also not sure he will sustain top 20 long term.

Lloyd & Harri will be targeting top 13 in the race which will give them Masters Series acceptance from the North American season.

*The top 13 teams from the final 2021 ATP Doubles Team Rankings shall re-
ceive automatic Direct Acceptance into the first 5 Masters 1000 events in the
2022 season (if not included as a Direct Acceptance on their own merit). To
qualify for automatic acceptance a team must have competed as a team in 11
ATP Tour or Grand Slam events during the 2020 season. *I assume this is meant to be 2021 season*
For each of the remaining four (4) Masters 1000 events, the top 13 teams in
the Team Race at the advanced entry deadline for that event, shall receive
automatic Direct Acceptance into that Masters 1000 event (if not included as
a Direct Acceptance on their own merit).
To qualify for automatic acceptance into the first 5 Masters 1000 events a
team must have competed together as a team in each week of the 2022
season where both players were playing doubles in that week. The exception
would be when they were both involved in the singles of different events.
To qualify for automatic acceptance into the final 4 Masters 1000 events,
once a team has competed together as a team, they must compete together
as a team in each week of the 2022 season where both players were playing
doubles in that week. The exception would be when they were both involved
in the singles of different events.

It only counts if they both play that week - as it says above that - which they haven't.

 Well, I did jinx them!

Neal will have to wait to reach the top 10 for a little while longer!

Pity. But the trouble is that Koolhof guy. I hear that he's not very good

As a by the by, I think Koolhof entered this event ranked #10? As opposed to 16?
