Enjoy those Wolf, should be fun! Are the week 19 qualies going on around the centre as well? Should be a bumper day and weather looks like it will stay dry and be around 17 Celsius

Bit of a shame the LTA couldn't generate any crowd for this (or even any chairs). I guess maybe it's not a 'normal' tennis club, but still.

Lovely tidy set from Sonay :)

There is a few of us back probably off camera (standing up!) but yes agree with the sentiment.

Lao made some really bad errors but Sonay very consistent and hits excellent shots from definsive positions.

Great play from Sonay! Yet another title :)

The 25k in Loughborough in January is still the only tournament since 2019 where Sonay has not won 5 matches.

Lao was pretty poor I thought. Sonay did what she needed to do. Needs to work on her touch shots (play some damn doubles). Very composed.

Great win and not only positive from that perspective but also because there is still plenty in her game to work on and she can get better.

Shame for those of us watching on the ITF feed that the presentation was at the opposite end of the court to the camera. Small gripe on a positive day.

She hates doubles biggrin

Always has

And I've seen her hit some of the worst volleys ever (although not all, of course - occasionally I think she makes a good one and completely surprises herself)

I don't think it's her focus - and she's probably right

It's the old conundrum - should you focus on strengthening your weaknesses? Or on strengthening your strengths? Different players take different approaches

Shame in a way that you didn't get more of a match, Wolf

But at least she won biggrin

And now you can see some qualis if it was all over a bit too quickly - and then the men's final, I presume?
