I do hope that Katie didn't have a late in the match arm issue again given that spate of DFs in her last service game.

I've felt this could be a relatively good year for Katie if she can stay fit. Whatever, pity about today.

Absolutely. I was worried about a stomach problem - didn't she have a stomach strain previously? That would stop you being able to serve properly too.......

Buzarnescu very strong on the clay, has won over 240 matches on the surface (66% win rate). Swan made her work for the win today, that's for sure. Three and a half hours the match, a good learning experience for the Brit. Swan has the serve, and the power to compete on the clay, it's about gaining experience for shot selection and strategy, especially as the match wears on and tiredness plays it's part.

That was a great improvement by Katie over her meeting with Buzarnescu 4 years ago at Wimbledon when she only won 3 games.
