Spanish players are unhappy about IMG giving the majority of WC to non Spanish players and have issued a statement (can only see the Spanish statement so far).

I hadn't realised just a week gap and then another two Nottingham 25Ks in Weeks 18 and 19. Famine to feast.

There is a premier British Tour event at same venue next week. Havent checked entry but some may stick and play that

Maia and Freya are into the MD, unless there's any SEs needed.

Which leaves more space for wildcards behind that.

Emma Wilson and Anna Popescu are also into the Quali draw (Dani Daley is also in, if there are no SEs)

We are starting to get into the area where WC need to be managed due to age restrictions or used all available wildcards previously. So the like of Anna Brogan may get a MDWC if a lot of the juniors can not use or wish to save for later.

Anna is still in Tunisia next week so she wont be getting one and the LTA are intent on not giving her any it seems.

Looking at the w25k in Nottingham, I suspect you will see some strange qWC as all the obvious names are in qualifying.
Ruby Cooling and Given Roach may get QWC if they don't get in direct

Maia and Freya now definitely in the MD next week at Nottingham (several pretty good players have withdrawn - which helps )

Dani, Abigail, Marni and Nadia are all into the qualis as of right

Talia has withdrawn

As has Anna Popescu

Mimi and Soumeya are the next two on the ALT list for qualis

In the men, Stuart and Harry W are now into the MD

Henry Patten and Mark W are in, if there are no SEs

Phoenix, Foley and Sizya are now all in qualis as of right

Tom Hands, Ying Hou, Billy Blaydes etc are all just outside and will make it in too, almost certainly.

Oliver Tarvet has withdrawn

Mimi is definitely in as there is a spare place, plus the 4 wildcards are certain to come from girls in qualifying.

Surely Mimi will get a MDWC after her wins at the Nationals?

Yes, I agree, absolutely, if she wants to. (I was just saying where she was on the list).

I wouldn't be surprised if she withdrew though. Especially if she has to play qualis. She's done a lot of high level tennis recently. And her interviews show she's (not surprisingly) really focused on Wimbly.

In Madrid doubles, Joe and Neal are of course in . Jamie wasnt in the original field, but I see Venus and Puetz are out, and repairing. Presumably as Venus is playing this week, he is the ok one and looking for a partner. As they seem to be doing ok in Estoril, perhaps Jamie will come into that pair for Madrid?
