There's a real 'motely crew', in the nicest sense, through in the women so far.

Three qualifiers have won so far today.

Two unseeded players have won.

Yes, Sewing (who Danielle defeated last week in straight sets) just put out the 3rd seed, and will face the winner of Talia & Eden...a great opportunity to reach a semi!

Eden is looking very strong and determined today. Talia looks to be struggling with the wind more than Eden too. Many returns long.

Yeah, but I'm taking my 50p off now.......

Never truly confident Eden will keep up the level

Really pleased for Lauryn and Alice Robbe - never believe in doubles rankings - was always a good shout - no idea how Alice plays but Lauryn is very deft at the net.

They beat the 4th seeds, 6-4 6-4

Eden won 2&4 and has a great chance in the next round.

Well, I don't think that was a surprise

The odds yesterday were ridiculous - people get carried away when a junior has a couple of decent results

Talia played a good match - she didn't let it get to her when she was being rather blown off the court, she made herself difficult to beat in the second, good mental side and some nice tennis.

But Eden was too strong.

Eden def. Talia 6-2 6-4

Much better second set from Talia, still lots of strength to come I think from her. Good to play outdoors in these conditions too as at the Loughborough Academy they only train indoors. Not sure about Stirling academy,

Talia looked impressive for the first 2 games then rather got overwhelmed by Eden and the wind for the next 6, though she did have game point in each of the three service games she was broken.

The wind seemed to dominate the 2nd set. Both players came up with a few nice shots and some awful looking 2nd serve returns that failed to find the court. Talia broke for *3-2 but too many errors cost her a break the following game. Broken again for 4-6.

Felt like Eden was more willing to go for her shots despite the wind, while Talia's game wasn't that effective when she took pace off her shots, especially on the serve.
