Week 16 - ITF W25 - Nottingham, GB Hard

She doesn't desperately need points but she does need matches.

Very good effort though

Glad to see Nadia and Rebecca got a win in the doubles - nice to have a couple of other names with wins

Ranah still has the chance to play juniors and at a top level, which she hasnt tried for; I dont know, but is going for points and ITF events the right move, or should she play a lot more games and against her peers in junior events for the next year or so? Not sure it would do her any harm plus she could develop her game away from the chase for ranking points in ITF's?

Nice win for Freya and partner over the third seeds, too, in the dubs

Ranah has played 2 junior grand slams so far, Wimbledon and Australian Open. As well as the JA Orange Bowl and 7 J1s so she has been competing well at the top junior level.

Sorry, yes, realised that - my clumsy wording, I guess what I was getting at was to say should Ranah really push herself as far as she can go in Juniors, aim at a top 20/10 ranking, maybe win a J1, get to the last 8 of a slam etc , as opposed to going for ITF points at this stage in her development?

Eden will just have to concentrate on her singles !

Does anyone know - are Jess and Rebecca sisters?

Jess is from Devon and Rebecca from East Yorkshire so seems unlikely.

According to the LTA player search, there are at least 10 players listed of both Rebecca and Jessica Hill.
And no, I didn't go through them one by one to check !

No worries

It doesn't really matter - I just quite like knowing the family connections (if any.....)

Anyway, whichever Rebecca Hill she is, she's got a WTA doubles ranking point today - and is through to the semis in a 25k !

Semis=18 points=instant world ranking at around the 1150 mark  biggrin

Edit - ranking prediction corrected, as I got fooled by the WTA tables.

I was thinking of Sasha Hill who is at Florida. Bio says she has an older sister and a younger brother - so unlikely to be her.
