Talia, Jasmine, Ranah and Isabelle with the WCs, Andre gets a LL spot.
This is Ranah's 3rd and last MD WC unless she gets a win this week. It's Isabelle's last WC until her 16th birthday (July I believe).

Think its Talias last wildcard until her birthday end of September too so as least that frees up more WCs for others. Makes sense to use them now as I would think Talia and Isabelle will be doing GCSEs in May and June??

I guess its random but looking at the FQR results, and who the opponents are, I'm pleased for Andre - she seemed the most deserving candidate
Yeah, looks a decent effort against her #2 seeded opponent as a significant underdog. I remember being on the same bus on the way to the venue as her opponent Cadar at Sunderland a few ago, and she lost 0-6 0-6 to Vic Allen in R1, so I always have a low opinion whenever I see her name in a draw , but she has had a decent couple of years relatively, so must have just been a massively below one off type performance.
On a different note, I see Andre won all 4 matches at the BJK Cup (lower ebb) last week, which looks like her debut for Lithuania. A GB switch likely never was on the cards, but that probably makes a potential future one far less likely.

Yes Andre made her Lithuanian international debut last week. Ranked 1098, two of her wins were against players ranked 563 and 491. Lithuania won their group but lost their play off final by 2-1 to Egypt. Had Andre not strangely been omitted from the crucial doubles the result may well have been different. I too am delighted that she picked up the LL spot today.
Eden played well. Got a little 'excited' at the end, when 5-1 up, and lost 2 games. But won, nicely 6-3 6-3
That's a good win for her - against a woman ranked 350 or so
Isabelle was well beaten in the end, but put up a decent show for her age. Lost 4-6 1-6
Ranah's match has been the most intersting.
Never been a real fan of Jo Garland's tennis.
BUT she is SO much fitter than a couple of years ago. A real testament to the work that can be done in the gym, in the park, the pool, wherever. It really helps her. And as said - quite markedly different.
However, Ranah has been playing well - she sees the court very well - and is currently a break up, *4-3, in the second. But it's very close...
A huge fight from Ranah to take the second set - and deservedly so - the whole match has been dead close. If anything, Ranah is the slightly more inventive and aggressive player
