There's a real 'motely crew', in the nicest sense, through in the women so far.

Three qualifiers have won so far today.

Two unseeded players have won.

One seed left in quarters of singles. Zero seeds left in semis of doubles.

As far I as I can tell, Eden has only once previously made the semi-finals of a 25k (Obidos in 2019), so this is a big game for her.

Eden went 2-4 down. Won three games. Served for it at 5-4. Got broken (Sewing played quite well).

Now has broken again so Eden at *6-5, serving for it again, from the other end this time

(Huge winds)

A most amazing volley at 40-40 gave Eden her first match point (having saved break ones again)

Which she took as Sewing's ball just went long

Great job, Eden !

6-1 7-5

Well done Eden! Sewing did very well at the net (she's won 3 doubles titles this year), and passing Eden when she came in. I do like that Eden comes to the net often, but I have to say I don't think her success rate there is very high.

In any event, one of the best week's in Eden's career (which seems bonkers really but there we are) - and a great shot at a final place too :)

This result will be Eden's second highest counter after last year's Wimbledon qualies.
