Not a convincing score from Jodie, but she does win in straight sets 5 & 4
Watched some of it. She played OK, nothing more. far too many errors but always felt she could step up when needed. Still looks way below where she was when winning in Dubai (I think) this time last year.
Will need to play better next round to progress. Lets hope she does and can string some results together. I live in hope!
Anna wasnt too far away from Jodie and I think she will improve as the year goes on. Anna is playing top 500 tennis she will certainly get to that ranking just a case if she has the will to stick at it and go further.
Only watched the 3rd set and a few games late in the 2nd set but I was impressed by Jodie's performance. Came back from 0-40 to hold at one stage. Kept attacking. Some astonishing passing shots from Urszula to save match points. Compared to the match against Anna, there seemed to be far more clarity about how Jodie wanted to construct the points, even if the execution wasn't always perfect.
Excluding the ties in North America GB's tie is the only play off tie with the score 1-1after 2 rubbers.Winning a FedCup/ BJ King match on a clay court is a rare feat for our players over the years.Laura won one against Argentina in 2013 and Jo beat Cirstea in Rumania 2017.
Edit : Copied into the BJK Cup thread.
