Main draw out - Talia, Ranah, Eliz and Lauryn with the MDWCs.
Guaranteed a QFist as Jodie plays Ranah, with the winner of that facing either Danielle or Anna. Jasmine has drawn fellow qualifier Katie Stresnakova. Alice plays Joanna Garland.
Edit Danielle vs Anna, not Ranah again

there have been some very good results with junior wildcards, Ella, Mimi, Isabelle all getting a maindraw win and Talia getting to a final all in 25k and in their 1st or 2nd events. Disagree also at this level that these 16 year olds may only be playing because their parents want them to. Youve clearly not been around enough of these events or met these players to know how driven they are.
I have, in fact, been to many of these events. The younger players may well be 'driven' but I see no good reason why their progress should be artificially accelerated at the expense of older players. If the juniors are good enough let them make their way through qualis-an excellent learning school.

I think you make some good points, sliced backhand.
I don't completely disagree with tennisdad - some of the youngsters have obviously done very well with their wildcards - but the problem to my mind is the lack of 15ks.
By just having 25ks, the number of applicants for the wildcards is automatically miles bigger than it would be otherwise. There are many worthy players.
But elite youngsters, being put forward by the LTA junior bods who have a big vested interest in their youngsters doing well, will obviously take precedence.
If we had some 15ks, we would have space to provide a leg up for other players, and a far wider range.

My view is that MDWC's should (irrespective of age) be given only to those whose ranking entitles them to a qualis place. QWC's should be given primarily to younger players.
