I have managed to get a day away from work and have popped down to Nottingham.
They have four indoor courts available. They are playing four mens singles matches indoors and will aim to play other two scheduled first on court matches after and hope that rest can be played outdoors.
Thanks, Topemp - have a great day - let us know your thoughts (if you have time and can be bothered ) - always really interesting.
I see that Luca Pow and Billy had a long MTO but don't know for whom (for Luca???). And Billy has the first set 6-4
Little has also taken the first set off Jansen, 6-4
MTO was for Pow who had attention to his knee. Has only won two of last ten games after a good start, not sure how big a factor his injury is as I am mainly watching Little- Jansen and Shaw- Bemelmens.
Thanks, Topemp - hope Luca's OK but he's certainly played a lot of tennis recently, with the two J3s and the nationals.
Yep, Mike is doing a very good job to make me look an idiot
However, he got pipped in the tiebreak which seemed fair to me, given the bits of the match I've seen. RB seemed to go to sleep slightly at the latter end. But all credit to him (remember Mike as a 14 year-old getting thrashed by Adam Thornton-Brown, think it was, and Adam was ultra haughty about the whole thing - I felt for the kid).
Strong performance by Dan Cox winning 2&0. If he wins this week, he goes into the Top 500. Might sneak in if he reaches the final but that probably depends on results elsewhere.

Bemelmans beat Shaw 7-6(6) 6-3. Looks a very good effort by Shaw from the scoreline and Topemp's posts.
Never be bothered about expressing a contrary view, CD ( and I am pretty sure you will not be ). Different opinions helps make the forum ( though in this case it ultimately seemed Jon was more interested in Bemelmans specifically rather than the match-up so you might have saved yourself )

Is that a thing?
Do you think anyone really cares?
Or even notices?
I'm going to have a problem with who to support if he comes up against Billy in the QFs.

Tx, Indy
I think I can safely say that if you asked my household, they'd all say, in unison, that actually a little less in the way of contrary views would be welcome
But it's not happening.......
Actually, all the matches went absolutely with ranking today. Which is quite rare. And especially given yesterday. Not even a three-setter
But the ones that seem close on paper are all tomorrow.... certainly great to have so many courts livesteamed - and topemp's on-site comments

Well, indeed it was Bemelmans that intrigued me most, but it seems Mike put up a decent fight.
We seem to have 5 men through from 7 Rd 1 ties today, so a good start on the whole, good effort, even if no upsets as such
