Week 14 - ITF W80 - Oeiras, Portugal Clay

Lissey & Liv VERY lucky to scrape through 10-8 in the MTB.

Emily & Ali both have strong serves, and you can see why they've had some success with this.

Lissey & Liv use chip lob type defence much too readily, and it's rarely effective.

Yes, very close. Lissey & Liv won by 6-7(0) 6-4 [10-8] and were 3-7 down in the MTB

It's been interesting to see Emily & Ali's progress. Ali focuses just on doubles and I wonder if Emily is going to go that way too given their doubles level as a pair and that Emily has continued to really struggle at 25K up in singles

Be great if they got a WC shot at Wimbledon such as was not given to Lissey & Liv last year when they seemed so clearly on the up with Liv fit again. Though they were even then ranked higher than Emily & Ali are currently. i hope we can take it that at least Lissey & Liv will be rewarded this year.

Goodness it's windy today. Diana's two doubles contributed to her and Em going a break down (but Em probably should have got hold of the volley on the deuce point). Em has just held to love.

Kalashnikova is already moping about and moaning. She's a nightmare.

1-2*

Lissy hopefully on before too long.

Jorge has just served for the match and made a real hash of it.

5-5 in the second (Lissey lost the first 1-6)

Em and Diana lose 6-2 6-4. A good effort from 1-4* in the second to level up. Will be disappointed to miss the two break points in the final game though.

Lissey 1-6 *5-5
