I guess turning 30 next month, and being an 'old' 30 at that, having been on tour 13 years, there's not going to be too much improvement at this stage and more likely just going to be moseying about draws and the rankings until she decides to call it a career.
There is a LL spot as PaulM says, and if she misses out on that, she might actually hit the jackpot if a top 8 seed withdraws after the main draw starts. I really hope not, but there could maybe be some question marks over Badosa fitness after the way her Miami ended, so potentially landing in her slot and facing a match with either Bondar or Hartono for a place in the last 16 could be a possibility for someone rather lucky.
There's not really much technical work that can be done for Heather at this stage. What she needs is to feel happy, relaxed and confident off court, and be able to bring that enjoyment on to it so she's able to be more aggressive and less fraught and down. It's why just now travelling with a friend makes quite a bit of sense to me. She's never going to be top 40 again, but a couple of final years in the top 80 getting some good results and picking up good paychecks is not to be sniffed at. She's given a lot to the game, and us as fans, that if she doesn't appear to be investing tens of thousands a year back into her game coaching wise I'm not overly concerned really.
