I assume Halbauer is a wild card with that ranking ? The WTA website doesn't say who the 4 WC's are and the PDF of the draw isn't available yet.

Lots of unranked doubles players got in. The 80k in Portugal is stronger than the WTA events this week to be honest.

According to the dartsrankingsentry lists the wildcards are Sabalenka, McNally, Navarro and Linda Fruhvirtova.

If Heather had entered on time shed have been well in the main draw- cut is 152 or around that level

Thanks - didn't check darts, only WTA and tennisteen.
Looks like a comfotable victory for Heather - could have been more comprehensive with 6/11 break points taken.

QR1: (q1) Heather Watson WR 115 (CH 38 in January 2015) beat (alt) Elizabeth Halbauer (USA) WR 454 (CH 260 in January 2017) by 6-3 6-1

FQR: (q1) Heather Watson WR 115 (CH 38 in January 2015) vs (q15) Ulrikke Eikeri (NOR) WR 281 (CH 206 in April 2018)

13 points for a QR1 win rises to 25 points for qualification.

If Heather qualifies a couple of extra matches and some additional ranking points will probably be just fine

Getting qualification points might be critical to ensuring direct entry to the French championships.

Heatther is back up to WR105 in live rankings (OER and Coric). Looks like her lowest counter (other than slams and mandatory) is 18, so she could do with qualifying and getting a main draw win to get back into the top 100.

Not sure it was planned but potentially going through qualifying could be beneficial with transitioning to Clay and getting into some kind of form and rhythm before facing any of the stronger players.
