Week 13 - ITF W60 - Pretoria, South Africa Hard

Jodie consolidates the double break...

Looks a nice tennis facility.

Took the second 6-1 Good result but the opponents serve was not great

Yeah Jodie was demolishing the second serve, but for me it was good she was playing sensible shots - not going for silly things and then getting flustered when they didn't happen.

Ball was absolutely flying through the court. Hopefully she can keep her game controlled and do well this week, conditions open up the potential for her to do a lot of damage. Although Monnet is a much trickier opponent than today's.

Totally agree conditions help her game if she can keep controlled. Lets hope she can!!

south Africa tends to be quick at Joburg, altitude and thin air.

Never been much of a fan of Carole's tennis. And I've known her since the age of 8 or so.

I know she's quite young (20) and is therefore on the up. But she plays a huge number of tournaments and has got where she is more by graft than talent (not to knock graft, but....). She certainly has the game to annoy Jodie but that's not really saying much no

Interestingly, I think she was born in Ukraine, and adopted by French parents as a toddler.

Anyway, I wish her well - she's a very nicer person. And a decent player. But fully priced, I reckon, in terms of ranking at the moment. Go, Jodie smile

A shame Matilda is out already, a rare chance to meet up with some of the other British girls.

Google notifications still listing Lily as Japanese.

Always going to be a tough one for Matilda - when Savinykh is on form she'll beat most players at this level.

The 25Ks here are aimed at players like Matilda but she appears to be avoiding them.
