Billy , I believe, needs to get out of M15 level events when ranked 434. Paul Jubb led the way and Billy can play clay, maybe he needs to try a challenger or two - certainly M25 level is something he should be doing, for me
Wouldnt disagree. Unfortunately he is stepping up to M25 again but back in Nottingham on the hard. Think its the wrong approach as his best performances have been on Clay. I guess its a combination of things. An early exit any week can mean you can checkout the hotel and go home saving on costs. Also the LTA dont pay out performance bonuses for overseas ITFs when the UK has them on.

Interesting, hadn't realised that as a general rule, makes some sense - thanks, Madadman

Billy is the 3rd best ranked male player who has NEVER made a Challenger appearance. I realise he has improved his ranking a lot recently, but that feels like a big miss - not even winning, just not playing.
I know Billy likes to play in one place on a run, like Antalya, but there are some Challengers which follow that pattern - even if he has to qualify. Just giving it a go would I think really help his game.
I am sure he will get a chance to play them on the grass but grass isnt his surface at all, I feel like the clay courts would be the best time to try a couple out.
I'm usually very much a person that wants to see players push on but at 26 Billy has found a niche that works for him, not sure if he has ambition to progress further or is having a great time doing what he does currently. Does he have some coaching agreement in Antalya maybe.
