Emma wins 6-2 7-6(3) smile

I believe this is her much awaited third counter.

Indeed. Now 7 points so far from 3 counters.

Both

Emma and Jasmine would have been satisfied with a point - but now they have to push on. Perhps easier for Emma (as Jasmine has the #3 seed)..,

Edited for typos disbelief

Na, I think Emma definitely has the tougher R2 task. I think I'd generally prefer to play someone of the 500 odd ranking range, especially in this Covid era where the bulk of those points could have been won in 2019, than a high end junior.

The #3 seed won her first match of 2022 today and had lost 11 of her last 13 stretching back to August, whereas Emma's opponent has made 2 Sharm SFs this month.

Obviously Jasmine's and Emma's respective capabilities will be taken into account, but Jasmine is also a slight favourite, whereas Emma is a 4.5 or 7/2 outsider, but good luck to both.
