After his recent excellent showings, this is a disappointing loss for Liam. I don'r imagine his problems travelling will have helped him much.
I wonder where Liam will appear next. There doesn't seem to be any hard court challenger options between now and the grass court season. He has played a plenty of tournaments of late, perhaps he should rest and relax for a while.

With respect, Liam should be trying to target ATP tournaments or at the very least clay challengers. I would be surprised if he doesn't play on the dirt instead of taking months off to wait for grass. I know Andy is doing this (as is Kygrios) but Andy has a specific reason for not playing the clay season.
If he decides to stay Stateside, there's the ATP 250 in Houston the week after next on clay.
More disappointed by Jay's loss tbh. Not entirely surprised by Liam's given the rigmarole he had of getting to Miami from Phoenix, although would have expected a closer scoreline.
Liam - part of the ups and downs I feel, I totally agree he should play clay and build his game. He would be silly to just wait for grass or not try and do his best on clay - it will be good for his game
Jay - really disappointed, just hope he finds form from somewhere
Andy - will beat Delbonis and then go out to Mercedes. Bad draw really
Evo - can see him making last 32 and maybe beating Shapo. But probably not
Jack - will beat Simon and then intriguing match v Cam
Cam - great draw really, Ruud in last 16 and no one before that to make him worry. Last 8 I hope for Cam.
Re Jay. I see he is staying in the Americas, next week in Columbia then the following two in Mexico all Clay. There is another clay event the week after that also in Mexico but the entry list is not out. Hopefully a change in surface will lead to an uptick in fortunes.
Liam will play clay, qualifying for the French 2 years ago really changed his fortunes on the surface. You get the sense he enjoys it now and has unlocked the secret sauce.
It would be interesting to get an update on Jay's search for a new coach. Hopefully, something changes soon - I'd love to see him switch things up and get his mojo back before the grass.
