It was clearly obvious he just needs somebody in his corner that supports him. Must say I find the publicity of his relationship a bit cringey but since hes been with his current lady its clear hes played a lot better.
He is great for the sport - lets hope he channels his focus now because his talent is undeniable.
Would love to hear a more in depth report on Cam v Jack if anyone watched - I wasnt able to
I can't speak on the technical stuff but I watched it and was very impressed with Jack mentally. He fell behind a couple of times but broke back in the first set and pushed Cam hard in the second set. Cam just played better in the key points, getting a couple of aces when break points down etc. Jack didn't look out of place at all and I got the impression that Cam had to raise his game a bit to win and at no point was he coasting. One point the commentators were making was how the top players always punish balls that are short and central and that Jack didn't punish it a couple of times when Cam transgressed.
He's got such a good all round game and if he can stay fit and continue to learn he's got a great future, one of the pundits saying they can see him in the top ten. Cam was very complimentary about Jack too. He must rate him if he regularly practises with him!
If I was both Andy and Nick, given theyre both not playing clay, get on as mates, Id use this training block with Lendl and get a few weeks together. I reckon both would benefit
I followed as best i could. Now actually watching Evo's match on Prime. i watched from a windy stand in Aus in 2020 when this same guy beat him. I left the tournament after that. Good luck Dan this evening.
Watched most of the first set and Andy played well. Medvedev is a machine though and gives nothing away. It's hard to see Andy ever quite getting back to that level but I would say he can beat anyone outside the top 10
Nobody, least of all me, is going to do Andy down. But the general consensus in the recent discussion in the chat section ( 'Andrew Murray message board ?' ) was that the title should more reflect how the forum has long ago evolved into a general British forum rather than more about any particular player.
