Incredible how this turned out for him. He drew the top seed who of course beat him last week. When he withdrew I thought Paull was benefitting from the kindest draw ever but no-one can take that final win away for him.

Fantastic for him.
Yes, I thought, great, he's managed to take full advantage of not having had to play anyone in the top 300 until the final but there must be a danger of him being thrashed in the final, and fortunately he proved that fear to be completely unfounded! I think he's the first Brit to win his maiden Challenger title on red clay since Tim Henman in Seoul in 1995 (ITF & ATP say that was on clay and as far as I can tell, Korean clay courts are red clay) and only the second to win his maiden Challenger title on any type of clay since James Ward in Sarasota in 2009. If you're thinking 'what about Kyle?' - he has won Challengers on red clay too, but his first two wins came on hard courts and Aljaz (who has won more Challenger titles on clay while playing for GB than anyone else despite not playing for GB for very long!) was playing for Slovenia when he won his first Challenger title.

Biggest ever tournament win from a British player in South America?
Assuming you mean singles on South American clay (so that we can discount the Rio Olympics and any ATP doubles titles!), probably equal with Kyle's Buenos Aires Challenger win in 2015 (when he beat Berlocq in the final), though bigger in terms of how unexpected it was, since Kyle was seeded in Buenos Aires.
I think it's only the 3rd GB Challenger win in South America this century after Barry Cowan won Gramado (Brazil) in 2001, though that was on hard, and Kyle's win mentioned above, and apparently*, Paul is the first player from outside South America to win a title on the Legión Sudamérica/Dove tour, though admittedly this only started this year and there have only been five men's Challengers in this series so far.
* @LegionSudam:
"Paul Jubb se consagró campeón del DOVE MEN+CARE Challenger de Santa Cruz tras vencer al peruano Juan Pablo Varillas. El británico se convierte en el primer jugador no sudamericano en conseguir un título de singles en @LegionSudam "

Darn it. Now going to be in the top 250. At least Jaggy will be happy.
Just kidding of course. What a fabulous week for Paul. Such a talent.
Ive just spent £2,000 when my boiler collapsed today but at least Paul cheered me up.
Getting closer to winning this wee race
We are both getting closer to our targets with Charlie Broom entering the Top 500 boosting my own hopes. Wouldn't it be great if we achieved both goals on the same day and had to call it a draw. Stranger things have happened.
