I've really enjoyed these last two weeks, watching him.
He's always been a fave, you can't help but have a soft spot for the lad....
And I'm not surprised his game suits clay.
He doesn't play the attrition, muscled hitting clay court game, but is very light on his feet, glides over the court, and distributes the ball nicely, uses his angles well, well positioned for clay, and with a clay sort of net clearance.
He still slaps at his forehand a bit - it's not perfect - and lacks a bit of power - but it's a decent clay game.
Well done so far - indeed , on the clay hes now 7-2 before this match over the 3 weeks, if we include qualies in week 1. Nonetheless , a 70-80 percent win ratio is decent over those events. Not sure if draw out yet, I hope he is in Colombia still next week?
As it stands, Id give Jubby a Wimbledon main draw wild card now, with Liam, Jack and Ryan, and Kyle if hes fit and wants to avoid using his PR? Liam and Jack may not need one come the entry date; Id be not sure about giving anyone else a main draw one as we stand currently , think anyone below 300 is too low and needs to go through qualies. Reserve judgement on Jay just now and would like to see Aidan make some progress, and Ali Gray needs to get some wins at challenger level. Rest too low right now.

SF: Paul Jubb WR 296 def. (LL) Daniel Dutra Da Silva (BRA) WR 322 6-4 7-5
Paul saved two set points (maybe three?) with a couple of super serves. And it was a mega long game....
But then, having just about managed to hold to get it to 5-5, he cruised the last two games, with Daniel having a collapse...

I think that's a good call. He did pretty well in 2019 when he was injury free during the grass season, beating Rublev and a couple of other players who were then in and around 100 ranking. It could be a real boost to his ranking as well as fantastic experience.

Great result. Considering all of his events bar one in 2021 were ITF events, glad that he is reaping some rewards for stepping up.
