If quals start on Monday, he doesn't have much time to train anywhere other than Miami and even then...flight options?

Perhaps he couldn't get on the American Airlines direct flight, so the 250m detour to Las Vegas gave a lot more options.

A) maybe hes got a girlfriend or love interest in vegas (does Liam have a partner?) b) maybe hes training with Andre Agassi c) maybe hes training with Steffi Graf d) any combo of a, b and c in any possible way!

He commented on social media that direct travel to Miami was impossible to sort out last minute due to Spring Break season here in the States so he is having to take an epic journey to get there. It is like Planes, Trains and Automobiles with Liam and David Sammel in the Steve Martin and John Candy roles.
