Sonay missed 5 break points at 4-3* and was broken.

4-5*

Lots of long rallies in this one.

Sonay breaks in set 3.

When was she last beaten on tour? End of last year?

Sonay lost to Beth in Loughborough. Her previous loss at ITF level was in the final at the W15 in Antalya in Ocober last year - her first event snce November 2019. That's 31 wins (inc qualies) and just 2 losses.

Well done Sonay - very good tie break and the winning point down the line was outstanding

Typical, the scoreboard froze on me - and I went to look at the live stream to see them smoothing the court !

Confirmed now that Sonay won in a final set tiebreak and plays the junior world number 2 next.

When was the last time a British player won 15 matches in a row?

Sonay's run looks like coming to an end, as she has lost the first set 6-1

Has anyone done it since Andy's run to world no.1, because that's the only one I can think of? But I don't follow all tennis levels, so there could be someone else between 2016 (Andy) and 2022 (Sonay). Doubles? Wheelchair?

A bit more than a handful unfortunately,  Sonay lost 1 and 2 cry

But perhaps not entirely a bad thing, will give her an idea what she needs to work on.
