Caught the last few points. She was broken serving for it at *5-3, but broke back straightaway to win 6-0 6-4.
It feels really stingy to come through 3 rounds of Qs to get like 1 point, especially having a top 300 opponent in the FQR (who would usually be a seed in most W25 main draws), but that's another very good win for her, and lets see where she lands in the very tough main draw.
There's at least 4 players in the main draw who were top 100 within the last year or two, and another if Wang Yafan comes through her FQR as well. They really could have done with more events this week. 10 players in the top 210 in crazy!
I watched a bit of that too and the second set was much more competetive. Sonay was broken twice and hung in really well to break back each time. I definitely agree that one measly point is scant reward for 3 tough wins.
There are some really tough potential opponents for qualifiers in the main draw, including Stefanini or Papamichail. Fingers crossed for a decent draw so she can accumulate a few more points.

Excellent win and proves that Sonay is capable of beating top 300 players on all surfaces.
How good is Sonay on Grass?
I've seen her a bit on grass at the Bank of England
It was a fair while ago so difficult to remember precisely
But it was when I started following her as a future interest, so she obviously stood out
I remember thinking that grass didn't seem the utterly natural surface for her. For her height, and trajectory of the ball, and stance, it's not ideal. And she's pretty poor at the net, bless.
But her angles did a lot of damage, not so much the speed on the ball but the unpredictability of where she was putting it, thanks to all that wristwork she does.
She didn't shine at junior wimbly either - but, to be fair, she played reasonably according to her level.
