A few days off and then has to try to qualify again for Miami. Consolidating top 100 and avoiding GS qualifying would be awesome. I think people underestimate how hard it is to qualify repeatedly. Covid has certainly benefited those that had already hit those heights beforehand.

My planned shut eye isn't going quite so well Pancho. Quite reluctant to commit in case I sleep through, ha.
It's obviously not, but it's got a kind of grand slam slam feel about with the very strong line up, the matches following on, and on here during a similar time to the US Open.
Not as much pressure though considering she won here 5 months ago, and a SF (if that what it proves to be) is still a very good attempt at a title defence, plus another big event just around the corner in Miami. I also wasn't sure if it was going to be a 'best of' situation, but thankfully it isn't, and those guaranteed 390 points will come in very handy, but I'd love it to be a little more...
I watched the tie break tens last night (no Brits of course) and it was good fun. One thing that struck me was Sakkari, she just laughed and smiled the whole way through, really engaging. Her match with Sabalenka was good fun and the two of them enjoyed it and had a laugh, including a nice little jokey bit at the handshake at the end.
Good to see them having fun and it would be good to see men or women doing these a little more often ahead of some of these events - the tie break tens organisation has been going since the first one that Kyle won at the ALbert Hall in , what, 2015/16? They have done around 7 or 8 now including one in lockdown at the NTC and it would be nice to perhaps see one before more of the joint Masters events, eg Miami, Madrid as well.
Good to see Sakkari make the real event final and Ill be rooting for her!
Tom Hill played pro tennis back in 2015 or so. Seem to remember he played doubles with Maniel Bains (was never sure if he had any family connection to Naiktha - don't think so)
