 She really did!

Shot placement and the way she moved Elina around the court in particular were excellent.

And her returning was excellent. Nice one Harriet!

Ha Jiwan, thanks for the updates though you did worry me when you bravely said Harriet had got it at *3-0 in the final set.

Went back to link to that and you had not so bravely edited that out

I had a rush of blood.

Did I delete it? As you can all probabbly tell I can't multitask or spell. I'm 136 years old (also 3 months and 4 days today). I've litterally just discovered the *, which makes reporting scores a lot easier. Some one could have mentioned I wasn't using it (smiley face icon)

Btw now Amazon shows pretty much everything, do I need to put score updates / probably incorrect updates?

Amazing win for Harriet. She played some really impressive tennis from 1-2* in the 2nd set. I watched every point yet it took me a long time to believe that Harriet might win.

Emma's high first serve percentage and minimise errors strategy got her the win. Caroline Garcia dominated the match with her extremely aggressive returning position generating plenty of brutal returns, though at a cost of a high number of unreturned serves. A few nice passing shots from Emma, otherwise it was Garcia who determined the outcome of most of the points. I prefer it when Emma takes the initiative but that may not be a sensible approach on this surface.

What a win to wake up to, no idea how Elina played but that must be a career win for Harriet. Brilliant.

If Harriet was able to win another match, shed go top 100 for the first time. Incentive .

We also have Harriet, Heather, Emma and Katie top 100 in the Live Race currently.

Ecstatic. Knew she had a chance but after my bold prediction for Katie decided to keep quiet. Looking forward to watching later as the general consensus is that she played well.

Emma was the highest ranked player without a premier win. No longer.

Be nice if Harriet took her name off the highest players not yet to reach a WTA Semi. Probably a bit of an ask this week still!
