Maybe a wee bit surprising here re the men's MD but the Americans in general get a very good WC deal by having 3 Masters events and so often just getting WCs for being American,.
Of course that is typical with other countries awarding WCs to their own players. But it's not so good wirh leg ups for such big events and some may know my views re MD MCs when wr get to Slam level, ie earn them.
Indeed - I wasnt really commenting on whether Americans deserved them, agree they get a good deal overall. More that I was surprised the 5 cards had gone to 2 Brits, 2 Aussies and a Chinese player.
Looking back on wiki to 2015, there is only ever 1 WC given to a male US player, so it doesn't look that odd this year to have none in the singles draw. Usually Michael Mmoh that got it.

Is that right, thats interesting. I know the fans had historically always given big support to South Americans like Rios or DelPo or Guga back in the day, as opposed to Americans, Agassi excepting. perhaps its a policy to find crowd favourites regardless. Andy and Nick K would fit, although not sure re Jordan Thompson and Jack D. Maybe they come as a package deal via IMG
RE WCs quite a few went to Americans at IW so maybe the policy is to give out the US ones there and more International ones in Miami. Could be a business decision based on time difference and so TV viewing
Lloyd Glasspool has made it into the Miami draw with Michael Venus. He was meant to play with Lille challenger with Harri but Harri has kindly stepped aside (he now can't play with anyone stupidly).

Is he not even allowed to sign in on site with someone else? Unless he pulled out as Lloyd couldn't pull out and then play Miami?! However annoying it is for Harri it makes sense for them as a pair if either of them get this sort of offer. A really good run at a Masters could boost one of the rankings to help them both overall get into tournaments.

Yeah, Im surprised Im the same way Venus was repairing when Putz pulled out, couldnt Harri repair and find a replacement for Lloyd? Seems unfair not to allow that.
To answer my own question, Harri is the one who had to pull out according to his blog. Lloyd couldn't pull out and then play Miami. A longish explanation. It is in Finnish so probably need google translate.
Rather concerningly Sonay has withdrawn from this week's France W25 and week 13's France W60.
I don't think there is anything to be concerned about. She withdrew from the W25 on Monday when she was still an alt and she has played plenty since then.

I think she needs a rest anyway. I think the time to be concerned is two to three weeks. If she does't appear then we'll know if it's an injury or a niggle.

Perhaps she doesn't want to switch back to hard courts before the BJK Cup tie.
