Great to see Jack playing a match on the tour again . He deserves his shot . Hope he gets a winnable 1st round match .

Wild cards for Miami are really interesting , no Americans at all I believe.

It is no surprise though that all Miami wild cards outside of former slam winners/top 20 players have gone to IMG managed or IMG academy players, as they always do.

As you say always the case and I guess the upside of going with a big agency , although whether it is anti competitive practice is another thing !

Not technically correct. Plenty of US players got WC - almost all the quals ones are US men, and last I checked Sofia Kenin was American and has a WC for the main draw, as well as 3 other US women.

Sorry - I was talking just men and main draw and apologise as I didnt make that clear - indeed, I hadnt and typically dont look at the womens details. my bad for not being clear what I meant.

I do think not having a US mens main draw wildcard in a US event is unusual and interesting

Maybe a wee bit surprising here re the men's MD but the Americans in general get a very good WC deal by having 3 Masters events and so often just getting WCs for being American,.

Of course that is typical with other countries awarding WCs to their own players. But it's not so good wirh leg ups for such big events and some may know my views re MD MCs when wr get to Slam level, ie earn them.

Indeed - I wasnt really commenting on whether Americans deserved them, agree they get a good deal overall. More that I was surprised the 5 cards had gone to 2 Brits, 2 Aussies and a Chinese player.
