Pancho Segura who coached her last was also on this list, at 58 or some such

Tracy wasnt in my top 50 and 56 feels about spot on for her. Famously also won Wimbledon Mixed with her brother John and of course in tennis media now as Mum of Brandon Holt

# 55 is named and it is Roy Emerson of Australia

www.tennisabstract.com/blog/2022/08/31/the-tennis-128-no-55-roy-emerson/

Emmo is one I had rated in my top 50, at 25 in fact, I did think he would be top 50, so maybe feel TA has underrated him.

Nonetheless , great champion.

8 of my top 50 have gone now, so going to see at least 12 of the last 54 being names I hadn't expected to see - at least!!

Jeff did say earlier "Then things get tight ... at least half of #51-60 could easily be rated higher, much higher in a couple of cases."

Anyway, you tell him, Jon

Thing about Emerson is he was the 12 time slam winner who didnt play the best to do it - Laver, rosewall where all pros, and as Jeff says, experts reckon Emmo might have won many fewer if facing the best of his time.

but Id still put him top 50 easily !

I suspect its largely just Gameover, myself and possibly Indy following this series to unveil the greatest of all time on Tennis Abstract. But Id heartily recommend anyone going back over the list and reading the narratives - a real, loving , work of art by Jeff, its become my favourite tennis series in a long time.

Speaking for (at least) myself, I believe that there are readers of this thread that are just that, readers. Not having anything to say doesn't make us disinterested.
