So I had Cochet top 20 on my list, I thought he had a stellar career at a very high level. Actually had him
As 9th man, so top 18 In my list!

I think Jeff has got caught up in real life so Tuesdays update was or is delayed. I hadnt realised how much I looked forward to the unveiling of the next player, its a bit like pass the parcel at a childs party!

We have player No. 76. It is a player who of all the precious talents was the youngest player to play in a Grand Slam singles final in the 20th and 21st century and that is Pam Shriver. More famous for her doubles with Martina. Sadly never reached another Grand Slam singles final. Still around commentating these days.

Pam I like a lot as a commentator, not sure where I would rank her as a player, for me she was always Martina's doubles partner!

She must be the highest ranked of our women. Finishes up on a par with Pam Shriver.

We have our no. 74 and it is Lew Hoad. The radio commentator Max Robertson rated him as one of the greatest players he had ever watched.

I had Lew Hoad as my 33rd rated player, so some way above Jeff, but whatever he is, definitely one of the best of all time

She wasnt on my top 50 list although she was one of the greats of her era in the 20's etc

Bunny Ryan won 659 career singles and doubles titles over her career, at least (records are poor and it is likely more). As Jeff says, a record that will never be broken; given she never won a slam, the modern currency of looking at greatness probably underestimates her, whereas her career was richer and more varied.

My own top 50 assessment weights slams highly (without the access to lots of stats, what else can we go on really?) so not surprised Ryan isnt on my list at all.

Thanks! I hope so. My kids won't be back on a regular schedule until mid-August, so it'll be a bit touch-and-go until then...
