Week 9 - ITF W25 - Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Hard

I presume Katie won. She was 5-1 up in the 3rd, when I had to go and sort something out. When I returned the stream had stopped.

Not yet, still playing and it's 5-3* - Katie broken serving for the match.

R3: SWAN, Katie (GBR) (1) 255 def GLUSHKO, Lina (ISR) (13) 334 1-6 6-1 6-3

QF: SWAN, Katie (GBR) (1) 255 (CH=163 2018) v KHROMACHEVA, Irina ( ) (11) 312 (CH=89 2017)

I hope I have got it right this time.

Glushko, with the big serve firing, and being really aggressive on Swan's serve in that first set. But the tornado petered out and Katie grew into the match in the 2nd set. She started to win most of the longer rallies, and Glushko's serve became erratic. In the end a comfortable win, with Katie playing some lovely controlled tennis in the 3rd set.

Yes Khromacheva was runner up to Ash  Barty at Junior Wimbledon 2011.

Didn't realise Irina was still only 26. Feels like she's been around for ages. I mean I guess she has been, as have I!

Katie now up 4-1* in the second

Back-to-back DFs didn't help Irena's cause.

No idea about the MTO.

Both seem to be moving fine (from what I can tell)

KS takes the second 6-1. Nice to see her so aggressive on Irena's second serve.

I know Katie's 1-4 down.

But I feel she's going to get a chance....
