This kind of result is why Harriet still isn't a Top 100 player.

Jeez Harriet. Bad one. This week was a pretty big opportunity.

Gameover is right - Hovde is JWR 8, shes played exclusively JA/J1 events the past year or so, so shes clearly a top rated junior and on the way up , looking at her results, so not necessarily a massive upset here.

And Harriet did also beat both of the 2 future US Open finalists last year within a few months of the Open.

Yep, but we know tennis has many ups and downs, just look at Andy who beats various top 10 and 20 players and then loses to folks like Taro Daniel.

It just takes a little bit of off form-ness and you can be a goner.

Personally, I would put this down to a bad day at the office - it is when it becomes consistently bad that I worry.

Yes, call it a bad day at the office. Harriet lost narrowly to Dodin last week, so the form is there, just not for this match.

She just can't seem to string good results together outside of slam qualifying.

Wow I missed this result. Not what the doctor ordered at all.

It's really not worth even turning up against GB women doubles players this week!

I see that Kayla Day, the old USA kid on the block, was earlier beaten 3 & 2 by the new kid, Liv Hovde.
