Very weak tournament with just 6 in the top 50 entered.

Katie has started very well, serving big and the off forehand is causing problems.

Terribly close.

A real 51:49 sort of set.

With Konjuh taking it, 7-5

And - just about - deserving it, if you absolutely had to choose.

But good set of tennis from both.

Yes Katie did well and had her half chance at 4-3* 30-30 when she missed the return.

Did well to save two break points at *5-5 but just got beaten by power in the next two points. Good standard.

And that was certainly what the GB crowd wanted....... a love set !!!! 

Konjuh lost that tight game very early on and then seemed to lose the belief, sort of sagged, and Katie kept playing well

Now for the tricky bit though...
