Re Emma. As far as i know, there are no restrictions on top ranked players entering ITFs. Top 50 players cannot enter 125s, although those ranked outside the top 10 at the entry deadline can accept a WC to 125s. But what play down rules are is largely academic as from WTA commitment rules and LTA expectations she doesn't have much choice to what she could play this side of Wimbledon. She has to play IW, Miami, Madrid and the GSs. She also has to play Rome as by skipping Doha she has used her allowance to miss 1 non-mandatory 1000. The LTA will expect her to play the BJK Cup and at least 2 of the Wimbledon lead up UK WTA events.

So her schedule is likely to be

Wk 15 BJK Cup
Wks 17/18 Madrid
Wk 19 Rome
Wk 21/22 Roland Garros
