Thing is Id got used to a lot of the juniors names last year and now they largely are completely new to me. Feel like starting a new course or job, out of my comfort zone!

Great to see so many new names. Happy to see Jamie diack competing internationally showed a lot of promise at a young age. Mixed results in Denmark. Lots of new names to me not sure how many train in the UK. Annalise Smith is in Barcelona Academy and Georgina Hayes trains in France.

Yes, I think highly of Jamie Diack too.

And also think, as you say, that most of those 'new' names to Jon are not UK based players but kids who live in Pakistan, say, but happen to have UK passports.

Today's results:

Denmark, J4:

R2: Wins for Freddy Blaydes (in a third-set TB) and Ellie Blackford

Ellie, Hannah and Millie all lost in dubs though.

Senegal, J5:

R2 wins for George Russell and Georgina Hays (and in dubs)

Annalise Smith and Macy Denney-Richards lost

Turkey, J5:

R2 win for Jamie Diack (and in doubles too)

South Africa, J5:

Anjali Kotecha lost her doubles

And the magic three !

Turkey, J5:

Jamie Diack takes the title, beating the top seed, 6-3 6-3

He'd better now jump on a plane quick because I see that he's in the MD of the Liverpool J5 event and should be playing tomorrow

Just to mention that Denmark also had a U14 Tennis Europe event this week (much as Liverpool often runs one at the same time as its ITF)

And congrats to our Alexander Winder (born 2008) who took the boys title , and in style, not losing a set

That's great news CD. It does seem to me that there's a crop of decent youngsters that are all pushing each other forward. It's exciting for the future.
