Sonay has a SE, so the other four are likely candidates.(Talia could have a SE, if she was bumped into qualifying - lots of withdrawals) As CD iterated there are a couple of strange QWCs.

Chloe Elliott at 12th alternate got directly into qualifying. Lara and Mayela were 13th and 15th so were next two Brits in line. In absence of any other deserving cases below them it would seem perfectly reasonable for them to receive wildcards. The only player to miss out was Michelle D who was 14th and plays as Dutch.
Better than byes.
I don't think there was any question of byes as there were plenty players on the list but just who would get the last qwcs.
Fair dos I guess if Lara and Mayela were the top two Brits on the alternates list after 3 qwcs had been allocated so had already nearly got in. Though wouldn't these positions be just as a result of a draw amongst these without a WTA or ITF ranking?
No because national rankings are the next consideration. Lara and Mayela have better LTA ratings (both 2.1) than all those beneath them. As from April 1st I assume World Tennis Numbers will become decisive.

No idea what the arrangement is for the women (we'll find out soon), or the betting site agreements, or whatever, but the men's matches are currently being livestreamed, which has to bode well for the women's too
ADD: Tx, Lambda, I'm pretty sure Matilda has some injury issue, no? Curious about Kylie....

The ITF site are showing future women's streams today, so that's good, although I'm not sure how much I'll be following with them being on in the afternoon and largely clashing with the football.

Great.
I will definitely dip in. It's due to rain really heavily this afternoon, the work I've got to do is pee-ing me off, and I really like to see 5-10 mins of all the GB players whom I've never seen before.
As well as a couple of the matches have the potential to be interesting in and of themselves.
Kylie played first round qualifying at the US open girls event, then started as a freshman at Georgia Tech. Played 9 matches in the fall till early November. Played 4 matches this year in January, all looses, but not in the February dual matches to date.
Was playing at 2 or 3 in the singles lineup. Appears in recent social medial images, so definitely still stateside. ?injured
Tough match for Lauren against the Czech player. She beat Jana Fett last week in Birmingham in 2 sets but lost to Talia in the quarters. very mixed qualifying field with a couple of very strong players in the mix. Grateful its live-streamed - switched between mens and womens right now!
I like Emma Wilson's attacking approach though the execution is patchy. Lots of big forehands, drive volleys, looks to get to the net. Backhand crosscourt not finding the court. She won the first set 6-4
