Between Emma, Sonay, Mimi and Hannah the prospects for British Tennis have rarely been so promising.
I would say a few are missing from this list but I agree with your sentiment. British tennis is looking bright for the future.
Having numbers is so key. While it very likely won't happen for some quite as they/we would hope, it gives more of a chance of one or two making really big strides in seniors in the fullness of time.
Well done to Sonay, I enjoyed watching that. First set there was literally the double fault at the end between them, but Sonay was so hard to beat to get herself in that position.
I agree totally about numbers being key. We complain about lta cherry picking but then posters on here do the same. Not sure why Sonay's success warrants picking out a couple of other names as above? Emma goes without saying, but you could add loads more names. Many are at us college and may get forgotten to some extent but also a few may come through and any of academy ones, late developers and so on. There's a long way to go from age 13 as well so despite obvious potential it's probably good to not get too excited too early. Sonay has been on the radar for some time and injuries didn't help in previous years. She was one who, if fit, could have done with the wimbledon wc playoffs last year...hopefully they will be reinstated this year.
