Sonay *5-5. They exchanged breaks at the very start, Sonay has been very comfortable on serve since, but had 3 unconverted BPs in a later game, and has just had 4 unconverted SPs before, 3 of them from 40-0*, but Lesley finally held.
Another comfortable hold from Sonay though, 6-5*. Since the first game, she has held to 0, 0, 15, 15, 15. Hopefully she can get the break next.
Lesley holds again from 40-0*, so into the TB. I've just put the stream on a few mins ago, but with 10 unconverted BPs in 3 games, it will surely feel like a set that slipped away if Sonay were to lose it. Lesley was furious with a call at 40-A*, but didn't matter in the end from her POV.
Phew - 7-6(6). She was 4-1 up in the TB, then had to save a SP herself at *5-6, but over the line.

Sonay is amazing. She just keeps finding ways to win tight matches. After a stressful morning losing our fences and the roof off the shed, not to mention the oven breaking down, it was lovely to sit and enjoy the tennis this afternoon. Now for dinner and a well deserved glass of wine I think. Cheers Sonay.
Yeah, turning into a good week for Jodie, winning 6-4 6-3. Sonay's match should be starting soon, with the winner of that facing Jodie in the SF.
Although as 4th seed you would hope she would get to this round, although I realise it seldom works that way.
A title would be nice though
Yeah, she was the favourite in all 3 matches, and maybe bar R1 where she had a 0-5 H2H, you'd be disappointed again if she lost, and the draw did open up for her in the past 2 rounds, and it kind of has as well in the SF, on paper at least with the #2 seed losing to Sonay (even though Sonay was a slight fave pre match), but as you say, it doesn't always work like that and she was 4th seed last week as well, but has had about 5 below par tournaments in a row coming into this, so par is at least an improvement, haha. A 'better week' would probably have been more appropriate.
There were also only 2 seeds in the QF, and she is the only remaining seed in the SF, but a very interesting match for her tomorrow, and I'm not sure what outcome I'm hoping for, to be honest.

Sorry to hear about your trials this morning but loved the story - you deserve that glass of wine !
I'm torn. I think Jodie needs the win more - if Sonay loses she has had another very significant week, backing up her top 150 win, and an absolutely superb fortnight, whereas if Jodie loses she will have matched her seeding but lost to (for now) a lower ranked WC player, and won't have picked up as many points as she would have liked during her mini home swing, so I'm maybe leaning that way, but at the same time, it would be amazing and so exciting if Sonay could make back to back UK W25 finals, so I'll probably sit on the fence and hope the player who performs better on the day prevails.
I'll definitely plan to watch that, although hopefully it will not be on from 12.30-2.30 during West Ham vs Newcastle, but suspect it might be.

Jodie had a good win against a potentially tricky opponent but I'd make Sonay the favourite given her hot streak. Main danger is of tiredness catching up with her.
I think Jodie needs the win, but I want Sonay's run to keep rolling. She's been so impressive these past months and I want to see her rise up the rankings like a rocket.
Not convinced by Jodie's week so far, she's got the wins but against far lower ranked players - and they've all been tight. I'd say Sonay 6-4 6-2
This is the updated wins list over the 4 ITF events in GB (main draw only) - Just Sonay and Jodie left in, of course. We had 17 wins in Bath, 6 in Loughborough, 15 Birmingham and 8 in Glasgow, with maybe 1 or 2 more to come. Sonay, of course, will top the wins table.
