I wondered if Maia would be here but not to be however she apparently is back playing according to cesspit forum. Good news

They're a bit behind. She played 3 singles matches in the Winter County Cup in December.

It works out better for me tomorrow. Sonay and Jasmine are on court at 10am, and Jodie follows Jasmine's match. I should be able to watch a fair bit of play, electricity permitting...

I'm still scarred from having no electricity for 6 days at the back end of November, and the worst part was Northern Powergrid kept on saying it should be back on in a few hours all the time, as otherwise I'd have made plans to stay at my brothers or something. Awful.

Still early, but cracking start for Jasmine against the third seed. 3-0*, and only lost 3 points so far.

Sonay *1-1.

Don't like Savinykh's delayed grunt...

I've got it on mute smile (don't really like the indoor sound).

Good couple of minutes - Jasmine has just taken the first set on the TB, and while she dropped the opening set 4-6, Sonay is 3-0* in the second.

People were mentioning the stream quality yesterday, and buffering, and the Sonay one has just become unwatchable for me out of nowhere. Jasmine one still fine for now.

Sonay was 5-0* up in the 2nd, but pegged back to *5-3. Jasmine down a break in her second.

Although b2b DFs from the Russian at 30-30, and Jasmine is back on serve, *2-3.

Jasmine *5-6. The 2 sets have completely mirrored each other thus far. One goes 3-0* up, but then loses the next 4 to be a break down at 3-4*, before breaking back, and then 3 successive holds. Hopefully Jasmine can keep the trend and hold (but then go on to win the TB, again).

Sonay won the second set 6-3, and is *3-2 up in the decider, but I've long since given up on that stream.

What a great tie-break, and end of match, from Jasmine.

Really assured in her tennis. Knows what she wants to do, her schemas of play. Lovely 'long' arm style.

Well done.

Great win in two tiebreaks from Jasmine! She has a nice game, seems to not be great when coming forward and starts to play tentatively when ahead, but solid groundstrokes and serve.

Jasmine WINS 7-6(2) 7-6(5)!! biggrin

Her best win by ranking by a mile (top 200 win), and her best haul as well (first W25 QF). Fantastic stuff. Well done

And a few mins later, Sonay comes through her match 4-6 6-3 6-3 - possibly a quick rematch with Kerkhove in the QF.

2 battles, but 2 very good wins. Well done both. Hopefully Jodie can complete the set as she should be on court soon.
