Week 7 - ITF W60 - Altenkirchen, Germany Carpet

Why two 4th seeds in the doubles with Lissy and Liv seeded 3 meeting one of them in their first match?

Can't see that anywhere goldfish. But there isn't a lot in the ranking difference.

Yes the draw is now showing Mariam playing a lucky loser.  I hope this is just being careful with her schedule and not an injury.

Bit of a shame given how close Lissey is to making the top 150.

She's level with Coco Vanderweghe on 601 points, so there already bar a whisker. 8 points and three places behind Eden at 148.
She'll lose a 50 point counter in March, but has several 25 pointers as back up and nothing else of consequence to drop until June, so every chance to climb higher.

QF: (4) Mariam Bolkvadze (GEO) / Samantha Murray Sharan CR 377 (248+129) beat Suzan Lemens (NED) / Yiriko Lily Miyazaki (JPN);by 7-6(5) 6-3

SF: (4) Mariam Bolkvadze (GEO) / Samantha Murray Sharan CR 377 (248+129) vs Cristina Bursa (ESP),/ Anastasia Detiuc (CZE) CR 389 (234+155)

29 points so far almost cancels 30 points due off for Sam on Monday. The title 80 points or RU 48 points would be a decent increase.

I wonder if Sam is going to be playing much doubles in the coming months and/or prioritising doubles. While her singles CH looks liable to have big further falls her current doubles ranking is a CH and with Heather due to drop quite big points next month, even before her Wimbledon L16 points, Tara and Sam at least could be challenging for the GB #1 doubles rankings spot in the next month or so.  As TA said Lissey & Olivia have very little to defend too. Eden, Harriet and Beth are the others in our 8 players currently in the top 170 though Beth has been purely playing singles lately.

Let's hope that at least one gets into the top 100 before very long. And that more follow.

I know ! They were really good points too but the Swiss girls were just a little braver....

(Sam and Mariam had been 2-4 down and fought back really well)

What a fab last point

Shame it ended in a snatched error but it was part of the whole scrambling, never-give-up play of Sam and Mariam, with Mariam having been brave at the net earlier.
