Well, there's a pleasant surprise! I was expecting the 18 year old with a far higher ranking than Sonay and a junior career high of 15 to prevail.

The bookies know Peter wink

(although saying that, Talia has upset the odds all week, and it would be absolutely amazing if she had one more in her).

I was expecting an all junior final. Having got the first half of my prediction wrong lets hope I got the 2nd half right.

She was pegged back to deuce in that game, but got the break, and has stormed into a 5-1* lead in the second set, so hopefully heading into a decider.

Haha, no posts for 30 minutes, not a massively key / decisive moment, but then 4 posts in the space of 34 seconds.

Well done Sonay!

Was thinking of coming down to watch tomorrow but it's just over an hour's drive and I've just been told by the club that it's a 9am start for the final, so possibly not.

9 am seems very early given they have been starting at 10 all week; are you sure they have told you correctly?!

Well I thought it strange myself, but I specifically said the final of the UK 25K Pro-Series and they told me 9am, and at the end of the call I checked that it was 9 and they confirmed that it was...

Maybe they need the hall for something else afterwards, it being Saturday?

Nearly blew it. Talia takes the tie-break and the set 7-6(4)

Yes, serving to get into a TB she wins that game to love and then takes the TB 7-4.

Great. If Talia doesn't come through, then an extra set for Kempen won't hurt Sonay tomorrow, especially if it is a 9am start.

If she is eligible, then looking at the Glasgow entry list, I can't see how Sonay wouldn't get an SE, so that would be fab as it would either free up a MDWC, or save her playing a lot of matches in a row by having to go through quals. I don't think it will apply to Talia though were she to come through here, as she isn't currently in the qualifying positions.
