Surely time to question the whole set up with her training/fitness and perhaps even sport mentality training?

She's got a very decent game or at least had a very decent game.
Maybe she isn't fit or well? If not as others have said really a pretty depressing result. Pretty sure she has points to defend this week or next?

Her game was good enough in February 2019 to be ranked 82 in the world when she impressed in the Fed Cup tie at Bath. She beat Coco Gauff  a year ago , a fine result.

Even allowing for her very bad injury it is hard to argue that there's been much progress in the last 3 years. She's at or approaching the age where she should be at her peak but the top 100 looks a way off right now. Still time obviously.

The recent downturn seems to be since R1 of the US Open, had some decent results in the first half of 2021 but has struggled since.

Katies problems are most likely related to her CFS. It has, and always will restrict her in the amount of training she can undertake. She may also have experienced flares of that condition subsequent to her Covid vaccines which may have set her back somewhat.

I forgot all about this match ! Too busy watching Jodie.

All four seeded pairs through to the semis, and 29 points earned. That's a counter for both Lissey and Liv, but only a four point gain. And both have a 50 point counter from 2020 at the moment, but some reserve counters as well.

Didn't she claim to have got over that some time ago?

Yes, she said it was 'officially in the past', or some such comment. I suppose that might just be a public comment, though... (or maybe she just needs a new coach biggrin)

For whatever reason(s) Katie is very far from being all she could be. And that's a great pity.

Must have been Figueira Da Foz last year, when they won the W25+H

Alicia & Olivia keep going a break down only to regain it only to lose it again (etc etc). Hopefully they don't lose serve this time otherwise they lose the set *4-5.

Thanks wolf. Only one hold of serve in the first 9 games. Match there for the taking if they get their act together.
