Week 4 - ITF W25 - Loughborough, UK Hard

When did you put that on Daniela CD? Her odds must have gone right out just prior to it starting as she was an average 4.54, and 5.00 at Bet365, which I believe is your bookie of choice - www.tennisexplorer.com/match-detail/

No odds yet for the Marni match tomorrow, but 2 GB players are considered faves, and Talia's is deemed 50/50 - www.tennisexplorer.com/loughborough-itf/2022/wta-women/

Jaysus, I was had ! crysmile

Just double-checked, but - yes - only 2.8...... ( I thought it was tight !!!)

(However, a cheeky 50p on Sahej at 7 came in nicely - if it widened out to 11 just before, I don't want to know ! biggrin

Lots of courts streamed.

Talia is off to a flyer - the first time I've seen her on livestream (or actually live)

4-1*

Her serve is causing problems, and nice backhand

And they both win in straight sets - both in one hour and 19 minutes.

Very nice and tidy match by Talia.

And well done to Emma too.

Two wins against higher-ranked, foreign players

Emily A is through as well. Danni fighting hard and three other matches in the first set.

Young Mimi is absolutely ripping it

She has such power (helped by a rare physique for her age, of course)

6-1

Young Daniela is also putting out a very decent display - nice offensive play, but pretty tidy too

*2-3

Dani loses the MTB 11-9. Wasn't brave enough at the end and two really bad doubles (one at *8-8) were nerves and tentativeness unfortunately, rather than attacking. She's upset about the call at 9-9* but the Frenchwoman's drop shot, whilst garbage, looked definitely in to me.

Feel for her, she had the match for the taking. But some super performances elsewhere from the young girls.

Pretty horrid match from the small bits I saw between Dani and Ambre (FRA).

Dani lost the match in the MTB 9-11

Showing that, as several said on the page before, there was nothing really between them (and Ambre had generous odds at 2.5)

Very pleased (and impressed) to dee young Daniela play here. A lovely fluid game, with really good timing.

Mimi is a more know 'starlet' - great tennis for her age BUT ALSO great potential to improve further (that serve is going to get better).

(I know we always look further and further down the line, but our 2007-ers are very interesting)

Daniela was unlucky to get broken right at the end of the first set, 4-6 - missed a couple of lines by fractions. Will be interesting to see if she now fades away and the other plays a lot better.

Mimi thoroughly deserves to be a set and 3-0 up.

But harder to close it out....

Mimi Xu (born 2007) wins, 6-1 6-0

And thoroughly deserved it.

The other player was not playing on one leg, or having a fit of the sulks, she just got beaten for speed and placement.

Great display, Mimi (and wonderful Bet365 moment for all the believers).
