C orrect decision if you ask me. If you win a Challenger, you should never play another Futures event unless you are recovering from a significant injury. JD is clearly at Challenger level. Do you remember Dan Evans made this error maybe 15 years ago?  He won a Challenger event in Jersey and then played a Futures event soon after and lost early. This did not help him.

I hope I can watch some of Jack's matches next week, they will be on at a m ore reasonable hour than the live streams from Aus.

I agree with this however (and this isn't the case for Jack) sometimes you can win a Challenger but still not improve your ranking enough to guarantee entry into higher events outside of GS weeks.  If you look at Quimper cut off for qualifying currently is 261 so Paul and Aidan wouldn't get in.  Options to travel further afield might not be suitable for some financially.  For the women it's even worse as there are weeks where there is nothing between 25k and WTA level.

The field in Pune isnt a lot stronger now than the Cleveland Challenger field. Liam could have easily been in the main draw in Pune if he had chosen that route.

Jonny and Ken seem to have withdrawn now although it says repairing, so not sure if one or both are pulled out?

I think Liam will be trying to get into the main draws and qualifying for the US tournaments (Delray Beach etc) so makes sense to already be there rather than going from Pune to US.

Looks like he is planning Dallas, Delray Beach & Acapulco.

Yeah, which all makes total sense and thus starting with Cleveland Challenger. And then presumably onto IW and Miami Qualies

If it all goes well, a place in the top 100 at the end of it? Liam has got 94 points coming off over the next 5 weeks, which would take him down to 500 exactly, and 100th ranked player is currently around 720, so he could do with a couple of main draw showings and wins out of that lot.

In Pune, Karatsev is top seed, ranked 15. Second seed is ranked 60.

would be great to see Jay qualify for this - not sure qualies draw is out yet?
