Harriets got a good section, she should get through. Katie B has a reasonable chance too. Jodie would come up against Qinwen Zheng if she wins that which Id imagine is game over.

Yes I like the look of Harriet's draw. It would be great if Fran could get at least one win here too.

Harriet seems to be defending 110 points from AO2020

Katie B is defending 10 points

Fran is defending 40 points

Do we think 2 or 3 getting through is too far fetched, plus Liam of course ?

Looking at the respective draws I'd be pretty disappointed if both Harriet and Katie B don't qualify and Katie S has a pretty decent path through as well. Not sure about the others.

The AO has reduced the amounts paid to players who lose in qualifying and the early rounds.

Reduced it may be, but still significant amounts for the Brits in qualifying if they win a match or two (or more)

In A$, so a little bit more than half that in pounds - 25k, 35k and 52.5k for qualifying, and 100k for a main draw first round loss.

We got Discovery + 'free' for a year with Sky Q just before the Olympics, so I assumed I wouldn't need sign up for the £6.99 pass during the AO and RG, logged on to Discovery just before for the first time in 5 or so months and realised (despite being able to watch the Olympics) it was only the entertainment package, and didn't include sport, so have just signed up for a month (I'll need to cancel sharp as I forgot to cancel after RG last year and basically paid an extra £7 for nothing). Heads up for anyone else who signed up for similar before the Olympics who just assumed they'd be able to watch the AO as part of that 1 year package.

I'll probably watch the first hour of Sam's at 11pm, before watching Badosa's Sydney match at midnight, and will catch up with Harriet's match some time tomorrow (hopefully it'll have comms as it may be in the background when WFH).
